Died peacefully at Knowlton QC on July 5, 2011 at the age of 92, Patsy Sullivan Baillie, beloved wife of the late John F. Baillie.
The Baillies were members of the North Hatley Club in the 1950s and 1960s and were an integral part of our community. John Baillie was president of the North Hatley Club..
Her sons Fraser and David, attended the recent North Hatley reunion. Bill Jackson and Page Dame, who grew up with David and Fraser, attended her service in Knowlton on July 9. |

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Michel Cote on July 3, 2011 at his home in North-Hatley, Quebec.
Michel is survived by his 3 children Nicolas, Phil (Dallas), Stephanie, and his grandson Benjamin. He also leaves behind his sisters Suzanne, Valerie, & Elizabeth, and brothers Pierre and Jacques, as well as many nephews and nieces. He was a long-serving cardiologist at the CHUS, and was involved in many outreach programs around the world. We invite family and friends to join in a celebration of Michel’s life at his house (88 Sommet Gardner, Canton de Hatley, QC, J0B2C0), on Saturday July 9 from 11:00-2:00. Edith S. Keppel died unexpectedly on March 3, 2011 at the age of 91. “Deedie” was the daughter of Melvin and Edith Sawin of New York and Rhode Island and the sister of the late David and Moulton Sawin. She was the wife of the late Francis Keppel, former Dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and US Commissioner of Education in the Kennedy/Johnson Administrations. In 2006, she was predeceased by her partner of 9 years, H. Shippen Goodhue and the most recently by her close companion Casimir deRham. She is survived by daughters Edith Tracy Drury and her partner Ray Holland of Waterbury, VT and daughter Susan Keller and her husband David of Medford, Mass. She leaves 4 grandsons: Samuel and Benjamin Drury, Matthew and Charles Keller. She also leaves Addie Rose, Matthew and Flora Holland, children of Ray Holland, and two great grandchildren Martica and Ian Drury. She leaves her cousin Henry Humphrey Moulton of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews and generations of living cousins. A service celebrating her life will be held at Memorial Church, Harvard Yard, Cambridge, Mass on Monday March 21, 2011 at 2pm. Interment will be in early August in North Hatley, Quebec, Canada.

Kilby Whitney died peacefully Saturday February 12, 2011 at home, 2823 Confederate Ave in Vicksburg MS 39180, surrounded by immediate family and following a two year battle with cancer. Born September 7, 1952 in Washington DC , she grew up in Dallas and was educated at Hockaday School there, Miss Porters in Farmington CT , Kirkland College in Hamilton NY , Middlebury College VT and the University of Texas in Austin , as well as the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris . Kilby earned a B.A. in Russian Language Studies. She met Cliff Whitney on a skiing trip to Steamboat Springs CO and they were married in Washington DC in 1982. Kilby worked as a foreign intelligence analyst in the Washington DC area and later as a staff scientist at Applied Research Associates in Vicksburg, where she and Cliff moved in 1995. Kilby was a positive force in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her, always there with a warm smile and a story to tell. She was also a talented cook, and loved to entertain family and friends. In later years, Kilby translated her love of food and people into the Bryn Rose Inn, where she also conducted a growing business of staging weddings, dinners and associated events. Kilby is survived by her husband, Cliff Whitney, sons Nick, Reed and Cole Whitney, her father, Charles R. Hickox of Dallas , her brothers, Charles R. Hickox III of Afton VA and Gilbert P. Hickox of Dallas and their families. Her mother, Edith Porter, Mrs. Charles R. Hickox, predeceased her in 2008. A service celebrating her life will be held 11 am on Wednesday, February 16th at the First Baptist Church in Vicksburg, with visitation beginning at 10 AM and a reception following the ceremony at the Bryn Rose Inn. The inurnment of her remains will follow this summer in North Hatley, Quebec at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
